CELEBRATING 130 YEARS
On October 29, 1876 a group of German-speaking Protestants
formed an Evangelical Congregation in O'Fallon. After
worshipping in other buildings, the congregation dedicated its
sanctuary April 20, 1879.
We are a part of the
United Church of Christ, a denomination
formed in 1957 through the union of the Evangelical and Reformed
Church (where our roots are) and the Congregational Christian
Churches (which include the Pilgrims of Plymouth Plantation).
As
a denomination, we emphasize the significance and freedom of the
local congregation. We offer great diversity of beliefs while
maintaining unity in our fellowship. Our differences add to the
richness and strength of our life together.
